Wide Waters

Sand sifts through my toes
while seagulls squawk
searching for surfacing fish,
along the east coast,
just shy of Canada.
The waves spread out across the land
and the sails swim along the windy shore.
The sky is luminous with deep orange rays;
the last glimpse of baby blue disappears,
stretching for what seems like forever.
Within the depths of the big blue life is abundant,
bathing in nutrients.
Scales shimmer in the moonlight,
while half the world is awakened,
by the copious sunrise rays.
